Families are forced to stay at home and spend more time with their family members in this pandemic situation. And to make this more worthwhile, it is important to create activities that all family members get to enjoy. As you also know, Mother’s Day will be celebrated all over the world this Sunday. In time with this, Google Assistant launches additional features that will connect families better.
A Newer Version of Broadcasts
This feature is not new to its users. However, with this update, it gives you the ability to connect and reach out to family members wherever they are. Whether they are at home, outside, at work, you can easily reach everyone using a Google Family Group. This enhancement in Broadcasts will not be able to reach family members on their Android and iOS devices, not only Google Home devices.
Everyone that is a member of your Google Family Group will be notified once you send a Broadcast out. Obviously, they also have the option to respond right away for an easier communication process. You don’t need to worry about sending multiple messages to everyone in your contacts to make sure that they are updated. Google has your work cut out for you.
Similar to Broadcasts, this is a feature that you might have used already before. On the other hand, this serves as literally bells for the family. It may be used as any notification or reminder to a certain family event or activity. Google claims that there are over 20 million Family Bells created since summer of 2020.
Aside from that, a great addition to this tool is that it will be available now to more languages than ever. You now have an option to set your Family Bells to any of the eight new languages, including Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
New Activities With The Kids
Another activity that you might enjoy includes this feature. Google is adding stories to its assistant that it can read out during bedtime or playtime with the kids. For instance, you can have your magical stories from the world of Harry Potter by asking “Hey Google, tell me a Quidditch Story”.
If your kids are not into bedtime stories, maybe you want to have a little game time with them. One that is based on a famous trivia TV show. To make things more interesting, Google Assistant can also play the theme song of this show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader”. This way, you are having fun and the family are reviewing or learning a thing or two.
Additional Songs Per Chore
Google Assistant’s handwashing song was also a hit that they decided on adding songs for other chores. This way, you get to avoid the feeling of dread doing it and you can ask your kids to do it with you. Here are additional commands you can try:
“Hey Google, Sing the clean up song,”
“Hey Google, Sing the go to sleep song”
“Hey Google, Sing the brush your teeth song.”
Google does not only make things easier inside the house, it creates opportunities for families to come together closer than ever. You can try checking out all these additional features this weekend and let us know what you think.
