Could this BE anymore exciting?
One of the most beloved gangs in the national television is now set to make a powerful reunion. Postposed early last year, due to pandemic, ‘Friends: The Reunion‘ has now released its first teaser trailer for the show. Here’s everything to expect on the TV episode, and how to watch it.
‘Friends: The Reunion:’ Is it worth it to watch?
If you were, or currently binge-watching popular 90s TV sitcom, ‘Friends,’ here is a wonderful news for you. Finally, the much-awaited reunion of the gang is now set to be released on Thursday, May 27. All of the original casts from the show such as Jennifer Aniston (played as Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (played as Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (played as Phoebe Buffay), David Schwimmer (played as Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc (played as Joey Tribbiani), and Matthew Perry (played as Chandler Bing) will be on the reunion episode.
Surprisingly, other familiar faces from the show are also expected to be seen on the reunion. This includes Elliot Gould and Christina Pickles, who played Ross and Monica’s parents; Tom Selleck, who played Monica’s long-time ex-partner Richard; Maggie Wheeler, who played Chandler’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Janice (and also recognizable with her iconic laugh); Reese Witherspoon, who played Rachel’s sister Jill; and James Michael Tyler, who played “Central Perk” mainstay Gunther.
To put more fun on the episode, HBO also invited some of the biggest performer names in the industry such as South Korean boyband BTS, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, and even Lady Gaga. Not only that, the episode will also feature David Beckham, Larry Hankin, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Malala Yousafzai, and Game of Thrones star Kit Harington.
Though a last episode wherein ‘Friends’ characters could be hanging out once more in their coffee shop is a real tear-jerker, the Reunion will not play the actors as their characters. Unfortunately, we will not see them as their ‘Friends’ characters, but as actors themselves.
Or just like how HBO describes it: “a real-life unscripted celebration of the beloved show.” The teaser trailer is also an emotional video for all Friends fans.
As announced, The Friends: The Reunion with the episode title “The One Where We Get to See Our Favorites Back Together Again” will be streamed on May 27. The trailer showed an emotional rendition of the show’s theme song, “I’ll Be There For You,” by The Rembrandts. The whole cast is also seen walking towards the studio in a slow-mo mode.
Casts showed excitement for the episode
As the world gets excited to see the reunion of the casts again, the actors playing the roles have also expressed their gratitude to HBO for making the project possible for all six actors.
Cox wrote on Instagram: “This kind of thing doesn’t happen every year, or even every 10, or 15 years. I feel so blessed to have had a chance to reunite with my Friends … and it was better than ever.”
Aniston, referencing a line from an early episode of the show, said: “Could we BE any more excited?!”
