Discord gives its users the best experiences when it comes to communicating and hanging out with friends online! Definitely one of the best social applications to try out. Check it out now!
Discord makes it easier for users to find and join various social events on the Stage Channels platform. They made it easier with the use of a new exploration and search feature, which is called Stage Discovery.
The new system, Stage Discovery, aims to support many users in finding social audio events. Some of these events may be something they’d like to sign up for. They could also support event creators, since many of them started monetizing the ticket sales and subscriptions.
New Feature – Stage Discovery
The Stage Channels aim at users who show interest to host their own social audio events, shows, and possibly interviews. The feature first started out in March, and many held access to it since then. One could locate the social audio rooms on all of its platforms on the many community servers.
With that, it reveals more of their visibility towards group members more than those of the general public. However, moderators tend to ask to have themselves featured even in the discovery menu of Discord.
Stage Discovery makes things more efficient for the hunt of users for rooms they might want to join. It does that by centering all of them in just one place. It’s opposed to manually going through a lot of Discord servers.
“Discord features Voice channels, making the application special since day one. As communities continued to keep growing, their needs increased as well.” Discord explains in a blog post.
“Discord aims for people to connect with friends and build communities. We believe that Stage Discovery might allow you to search for audio events that’ll enhance the experience with your friends. These audio events show a lot of worth, making it just like the usual physical event. You might want to look out for the Stage Discovery, which is coming in June with some very exciting creators.”
Business Talks with Discord
During the previous summer, Discord started a big overhaul with its aspect being the social audio, specifically. It’ll make things easier for its users to communicate with each other through calls and chats.
Discord ended up raising $100M at a valuation of $7B last December, which includes from Sony. Rumors about Microsoft later roamed around; rumors about planning a purchase on Discord for $10B. Apparently, these talks eventually failed, meaning there won’t be Discord in the Xbox.
There’s a strong possibility of Discord going public and holding an IPO as it notices an opportunity.
In the early days of this month, Discord partnered together with Sony to implement Discord’s real interactions in the PlayStation’s communications network of Sony. The social audio along with the text-based chat of Discord will augment the existing tools of Sony. Sony will soon invest the undisclosed sum which takes the minority stake of Discord, being part of the deal.
