As the situation is getting better, people are slowly turning back to our old routines. That includes opening of theaters. Also, people have been getting their dose of movies, TV shows, and entertainment from different platforms and streaming services like Netflix, and YouTube. However, it still doesn’t beat the feeling you had when you are in an actual movie theater. But whether you opt to watch in a theater or at the comfort of your own home, here are the newest trailers to watch out if you are thinking of having this movie date soon.
The Verge and CBCR gave us a rundown of the biggest trailers, promos and teasers released within the first week of May and that will hit the theaters and streaming services soon.
The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
A sequel to the action comedy film, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, stars Ryan Reynolds as the Bodyguard to Samuel L. Jackson as the Hitman, and Salma Hayek, the wife. The film Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard brings us another death defying adventure of Michael Bryce (Reynolds), the bodyguard that helps keep the couple Darius (Jackson) and Sonia Kincaid (Hayek) alive. This makes it more challenging as Bryce are forced to keep himself from using weapons though it seems impossible for his job. The movie arrives in theaters June 16.
Lupin (Part 2)
As one of the most popular original series on Netflix, here is the continuation of the story of the master thief Assane Diop (Omar Sy). This time, Assane tries to escape being caught by the French police while trying to rescue his kidnapped son Raoul from the crime lord Pellegrini.
Now if you want the first part, it is still streaming on Netflix. You can also watch Lupin Part 2 as it premiers on June 11.
Wish Dragon
If you are looking for a new movie to watch with your kids, you may want to mark your calendars for this one. The Wish Dragon is a new animated movie that was released in theaters in China early part of this year. This time, it will be available on Netflix on June 11.
This tells the story of a young man named Din, who found a magical teapot. Inside the teapot is a magical dragon or being that grants three wishes to the person who freed him. And together let’s see how Din will use his three wishes and if he achieves happiness with it. This movie stars John Cho, Constance Wu, and Jimmy Wong.
Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage
Another sequel to the movie, Venom released in 2018. This movie now shows Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) who this time seems to create a working relationship with the Venom with certain ground rules like “No Eating People”. Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage brought by Sony also includes a convicted serial killer having his own symbiote and escaping from prison. The movie arrives in theaters September 24.
The Forever Purge
The fifth installment to the Purge films which tells a creepy and extremely scary holiday that Americans celebrate, The Purge. This narrates the celebration of the annual purge with a 12-hour duration where citizens can release all their rage and emotions having no restrictions as crimes like rape, theft or even murder is allowed. And if this isn’t enough, here is The Forever Purge. This time, citizens thought that the purge is over, being shocked and confused as they are trapped and still to be purged by unknown men wearing masks.
This is the latest Purge film after The Purge: Election Year and may also be the last as the name suggests. The Forever Purge will be in theaters July 2nd.
