The new unveiled Ford truck at For World Headquarters comes with an affordable price of $40,000.
Ford released the F-150, a new all-electric lightning pickup truck, recently at Dearborn, Mich on Wednesday.
During the launching of the new Ford truck, Ford and United Auto Workers made the event unique and stimulating. In the opening ceremony, there was a solemn voiceover that introduced the latest release saying, “An electric truck that can match the ambitions of this nation.” Ford CEO, Jim Farley, described it as, “It hauls ass and tows like a beast.”
F-150, a friendly price pickup
According to Farley, Ford is touting to make the vehicle more of a power plant and not just a mere pickup. Along with this gamechanger model is a price that would draw attention to the masses.
F-150 has a friendly starting price of $40,000 and below. Interestingly, it is lower than vehicle enthusiasts expected. The average price of most pickups is roughly more than $50,000z. Hence, it is indeed a competitively gas-powered pickup.
More so, factoring the vehicle in federal tax credit is more spartan. Since Ford qualifies for it, it has the cheapest electric truck confirmed recently.
Due to this, the cheap pickup is described by Jessica Caldwell, Edmunds’ executive director of insights, as “compelling.” She added, “Ford has the advantage of economies of scale that most companies, particularly smaller, newer entrants to this space can only dream of.”
F-150 amazing features
Ford’s F-150 can run on 230 to 300 miles, depending on the choice of battery. To add, it can reach 54 more miles every ten minutes when using a fast charger. These figures are incredibly astonishing that it would look like clickbait estimation; however, it is not. These ambitious estimations are actualized promises for this battery-powered pickup.
Additionally, it has a speedy acceleration and more on-road essentials. Ford emphasized that F-150 Lightning can make it standstill on a worksite or even power a house in case of emergency. Lightning has eleven built-in outlets, allowing drivers to run many power tools like kitchen appliances or at a worksite. When it’s plugged in at home during a blackout, Lightning can send the electricity in an instant automatically. Interestingly, it can last for days!
Electric vehicles have this bidirectional power flow that has been considered its advantage. They are batteries even if they are not functioning to power up engines. However, it is not easy to access this energy—Ford wants to change that; to release electric pickups with a bidirectional flow of power.
Ford’s new pickup, F-150, is undoubtedly a gamechanger. It paves the way for electric pickups to be emergency bystanders. To add, it is cheap for its features and vehicle type—no wasted money here!
