Tesla Model S Plaid could be the fastest production car in the market right now. This is what the popular tech CEO Elon Musk claims about his new electric vehicle.

Musk said, via his official Twitter account, that the new “Tesla Model S Plaid delivery event June 3 at our California factory. Fastest production car ever, 0 to 60mph in under 2 secs.”

Although his announcement was short, the information he provided clearly shows how powerful the new Tesla Model S Plaid is. Its acceleration speed is one of a kind since there are only very few electric cars that can achieve this speed in less than two seconds.

Previously, Tesla Model S Plaid’s delivery date was delayed because of unknown reasons. And now, the tech giant manufacturer provided the final delivery schedule, which is June 3. Although the electric car created didn’t confirm the exact reasons why it was delayed, some rumors claimed that the issue happened because of the ongoing chip shortage and other manufacturing issues.

Tesla’s CEO said that “with respect to the Model S and X, there were more challenges than expected in developing the Model S or what we call the Palladium program, which is the new version of Model S and X, which has revised interior and new battery pack and new drive units and new internal electronics and has, for example, a PlayStation 5 level infotainment system.”

Model S Plaid’s Features

The new Tesla Model S Plaid is considered as one of the luxurious cars of Elon Musk. It has 1,020 horsepower, a top speed of 200 miles per hour, and can go from 0-60 mph in 1.99 seconds. This is also the reason why the popular tech CEO considers it as the fastest accelerating car in production day.

On the other hand, the new Tesla Model S Plaid is just like other electric car sedans when it comes to the exterior design. This means that you will get the same old Sedan frame everyone is familiar with, with all those same options.

The new Model S Plaid has a 95kWh battery, which the giant EV manufacturer claims could offer up to 390 miles of range. That’s less than the long-range Model S, which offers 412 miles on a single charge. However, that model isn’t nearly as fast.
