Feeling hesitant to start crypto journey? Here’s why you should NOT!
If there’s one thing that E-Toro’s popular female investor Heloïse Greeff has to say to beginners in crypto trading, it’s the words ‘just get started.’ One of the most famous crypto traders in the world and third’s most-copied trader had an exclusive interview with the Business Insider on how to get inside the world of crypto trading. Here are the tips you should know from her.
E-Toro’s best lady in crypto
If you’re running away from investing on crypto, this lady says you should run towards it instead. In an exclusive interview with Business Insider, Greeff reveals the top things she does in order to make sure her ‘crypto plan’ will not go to waste in the long-run.
1. Ethereum better than Bitcoin
“The underlying blockchain architecture which Ethereum runs on has a lot of potential to go way beyond a cryptocurrency,” she said.
One of the five things she said in her interview is that Ethereum cryptocurrencies are better than Bitcoin. Greeff first bought her first bitcoin in 2013. Though her earnings multiplied from her investment in the most popular coin today, she still has doubts when it comes to Bitcoin’s very unpredictable stance. Despite that, she still believes from the power of cryptos, not with bitcoin, but with Ethereum.
2. Read and read
“There’s no black box which makes the decision,” she said.
Greeff’s most common yet effective tip for first-time investors is that knowledge is the key in understanding the market. The E-Toro trader uses machine-learning, which she specializes in, to know the track where the market is heading.
Aside that, she also makes sure that her knowledge and reading charts from market sites should always be maintained everyday.
3. ‘Small wins’ are still win
“I don’t tend to take very high-risk positions,” she said. “I tend to have moderate returns and just keep compounding that over time.”
Unlike other crypto traders out there, Greeff believes that taking high risks in cryptocurrencies is not a good practice for beginner traders. As she said, ‘small wins is still a win.’ She explained that cryptos are long-term investments that should not be a source of easy or fast money. The trader also said that ‘over-promising’ things are not her thing in giving advices to people.
“I’ve told people off from copying me when they are expecting massive returns,” she added.
4. Women can invest too!
“Technology has really enabled more women to invest, even though it is a male-dominated industry historically, because we’re now all sat behind a screen, it has kind of broken down those barriers,” she said.
“For me, being a woman does not influence my tolerance to risk, but it rather influences my decision-making process,” she said. “I tend to take a bit more time to gather more information, to make sure that I collect all the data before I make a decision.”
As the most-trusted female trader in E-Toro, Greeff also believes that women nowadays are now more keen in learning to invest on cryptocurrencies than before, especially during pandemic. Which in fact, E-Toro confirmed in its latest data showing 366% rise in women joining the market.
