Doublelift explained how Riot can fix the largest issue of League of Legends. He claims that the gaming company needs to change its matchmaking system.
Doublelift, one of the most popular ADCs in the professional League of Legends tournaments, claimed that Riot needs to changes its matchmaking system. The popular LoL streamer posted a video on YouTube explaining how Riot Games can solve one of the biggest issues in the Summoner’s Rift.
Doublelift‘s viral YouTube post was published on May 29. It was able to generate more than 100,000 views, 7,000 likes, 130 dislikes, and 670 comments. Here are some of the options for LoL fans and new players.
“For the people who don’t know how important the ping difference is, just go play the league tutorial and see how it feels to play with 0 pings.”
“Logistically it is possible if riot wants to do this. Adding servers for location-based matchups can happen if riot WANTS to fork the money I know they have.”
“The two dislikes are people that live in Indiana and don’t have ping issues.”
How Riot Games Can Solve LoL’s Biggest Issue
Doublelift claimed that the giant title developer could solve its matchmaking issue by implementing a Valorant-style system. The streamer explained that this will allow the players to have their matches with the gamers in their area.
On the other hand, Doublelift added that “it’s a humongous deal that our solo queue environment is having pro players playing on 50-60 ping, It would be like if you told an NBA player to go practice at home, but at home, his basketball was just heavier.”
Doublelift further explained that “a lot of the time, you’re gonna get a lot of people from the same region in a lobby. It’s worked in Counter-Strike for literally 20 years and it’s clearly working in Valorant.”
As of the moment, the game’s matchmaking system makes the players compete against other gamers that are living in very far areas. This issue could lead to inaccurate communication between teammates and a toxic experience for their enemies, especially if they don’t have the same language.
Right now, the Riot is still trying to make the Summoner’s Rift a more friendly ecosystem. It is releasing different updates, in-game content, and other changes to make the title more enjoyable.
As of the moment, Riot Games hasn’t released any statement regarding the streamer’s proposal. However, there’s a high chance that they will consider this if many fans agree with the popular player. But, you still need to remember that Riot Games will still review this suggestion. It will still depend on the developers’ final decision if they will use a Valorant-style matchmaking system.
