Every person going out anywhere now has essential things to bring with them. Aside from money and phones, alcohol and MASKS are now something that you cannot and must not forget. However, with the vaccination programs being implemented by the government and the increased number of fully vaccinated Americans, people are starting to return to their pre-pandemic activities.
CDC Guidelines Updates
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) is continuously lifting guidelines which require people to wear masks in public places. In line with this, movie theater chains which include AMC, Regal, and Cinemark are modifying its standards. They are now allowing its guests to not wear masks inside movie theaters. This is for as long as they are fully vaccinated.
However, this is still with strict implementation of other safety guidelines like reduced capacity of movie viewers, social distancing inside theaters, and regular and effective sanitation practices within CDC standards. This is necessary in order to avoid the spread of the virus.
As also reported by Gizmodo and Variety, those non-vaccinated guests may only remove their masks when eating or drinking. However, they need to wear the mask for the rest of the time. Additionally, AMC, Regal, and Cinemark employees are mandated to wear their masks while working.
Statements of Major Movie Theaters
Some of the major theater chains provided a clearer statement for this update.
“Guests who are not fully vaccinated are asked to continue wearing masks”, as stated by AMC. All other aspects of the AMC Safe & Clean policies and procedures, including seat blocking, remain in place at this time.”
On the other hand, Regal also explained in their website their approach to the new policy. It says, “vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks or socially distance, the movie theatre industry will continue to meet or exceed state and local public health guidelines.”
Lastly, Cinemark makes sure that their customers are updated and that they follow CDC standards. It states that ” “Face masks are optional for fully vaccinated guests [except where required by local mandates]. Masks are strongly encouraged for all other guests, in accordance with CDC guidelines. Masks may be removed when eating and drinking inside the auditorium.”
Amidst the more lenient standards being implemented, people are still encouraged to wear masks in movie theaters or in other public spaces. It is the public’s choice to make sure to be safe from the virus.
Vaccination Push by the White House
Aside from being updated with the newest policies, it is also important for each and everyone to have their complete vaccines in place. The White House has been using ways to promote and make sure that they reach their target. As of today, Bloomberg states that 294 million doses have been administered already.
Also, fully vaccinated Americans receive a number of perks and benefits with their status. One of those benefits include premium features from various dating apps like Tinder and OkCupid as being vaccinated is the new “turn-on” now. Also, companies like Uber and Lyft provide free rides to vaccination sites making sure that everyone has no excuse to not be vaccinated.
