Twitter is continuously upgrading and adding new features week by week. And with this, another feature in the works includes a more interactive reaction panel for you. This social media giant is reportedly working on a feature quite similar to Facebook.
Similar from the past, this news was first known from a tweet of Jane Manchun Wong, an app researcher known for having reliable predictions and updates in the past. In the said tweet, she shows a possible view of how Twitter will look like if this update pushes through.
New Reaction Panel
As of today, Twitter only has the following options in every tweet – Reply, Retweet, Like, and Share. Indicated in a tweet by Wong, aside from the initial “Like” button, there would be additional reactions like “Cheer”, “Hmm”(makes you think), “Sad”, and “Haha”. This will definitely make tweets more interactive, fun, and personal, for its users.
However, there are also some concerns as to the use of these new reactions. It may be a way to worsen hate and bullying within this platform.
As reported by 9to5Mac, only “Hmm” and “Haha” have unique reactions while “Cheer” and “Sad” just have the same heart emoji same as the “Like” button.
Take note that there are no specific details yet as to the release of the new feature or whether it will be officially added to the platform. However, it has been reported that twitter has been working on this update for a couple of weeks already. Therefore making it more likely to be available soon.
Other Features From Twitter
As mentioned, this is just one of the many upgrades that Twitter is adding to its platform. In the past weeks and months, Twitter has been announcing numerous additions to their site like the subscription service called “Blue”. This provides a much upgraded service for a minimal fee.
Another upgrade added just last week is the Ticketed Spaces feature. This one, on the other hand, gives access to an audio-messaging platform for creators and interested users. Also, Twitter made this feature available to desktop and mobile web pages.
Twitter’s Verified Symbol
On another update, Twitter opened its verified program last week for users to receive its highly coveted “Verified” little blue check mark symbol. This will make sure that the account belongs to whoever it says. It has been a way to make sure of the authenticity and official account of someone like a celebrity, or content creator is verified.
However, due to this symbol becoming in demand for quite a lot of users, Twitter received a high number of requests. As reported by CNET, Twitter is hitting the pause button on new requests. This way, they get to update and finish the previous requests firsts before accepting new ones. But no worries, because they promised (pinky swore) that they will reopen the requests soon.
Between all of these updates and features, it is important that you understand the essence of all these additional features. Twitter makes use of features that will open doors for conversations and connections between its users. Let’s wait for other features to be added in the future.
