Google announced that it will decided to remove your Gmail account if you don’t do this. Is it the same with the current WhatsApp issue?
Recently, WhatsApp announced that it will start making the accounts of those inactive users unusable. Aside from this, the giant app company also said that it will remove the accounts of those who don’t abide to its new rules and regulations when it comes to user data sharing. Now, Google seems to be following its plan.
Google now confirmed that it will start deleting the accounts of those who are not using their Gmails. The tech giant firm’s consumers have been hit by new terms this month which allows the tech giant to delete Gmail and Photos accounts and it’s worth remembering that WhatsApp also has some similar rules.
Since Google has just changed its terms and conditions, this clearly shows that the search engine giant will start deleting the Gmail accounts, as well as Drive and Photos accounts, of those who don’t abide to its new rules and regulations.
This is not good news since all the files you saved in these Google services will not be available on the company’s online servers. Aside from this, the search engine giant also confirmed that it can do delete your account without your permission.
Google said that “if you’re inactive for 2 years (24 months) in Gmail, Drive or Photos, we may delete the content in the product(s) in which you’re inactive. If you exceed your storage limit for 2 years, we may delete your content across Gmail, Drive and Photos.”
Other Details of Gmail Account Removals
Google says it is bringing in the refreshed policy in a bid to rid its servers of accounts and files that lay dormant for a number of years. And it’s not just the search engine giant that can send your account to the digital scrap heap as WhatsApp users can suffer the same fate.
As of the moment, Google users might now even be aware that these new rules are now active. Because of this, most of them may lose their accounts, especially since various companies are now using other online platforms to communicate with one another. If you don’t want to use your Gmail account, Here are the things you need to do.
Keeping Your Account Active
The best prevent the giant email service from removing your account is to make it active as possible. The simplest way to do this is by opening it on your smartphone or desktop atleast once or twice a month. To help you further, here’s how you can open your Gmail account on both devices.
