Warner Bros. Interactive’s upcoming games might not take the spotlight during E3 2021, instead, it will only focus on Back 4 Blood.
For E3 2021, on June 13, Warner Bros. Interactive will only focus on Back 4 Blood. Other upcoming games will not make an appearance during the event. Among these games is Hogwarts Legacy, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and Gotham Knights.
Reasons behind the selection
The three movies mentioned will not make it into E3 2021 due to some reasons. Warner Bros will release these upcoming games in 2022, delaying their actual scheduled date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With all three titles not set for this year, the publisher has decided only to showcase Back 4 Blood, which suffered from a delay, too. They will release the game on October 12, 2021.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is an upcoming game from the Batman Arkham studio, Rocksteady Games. It has not yet released any details since its announcement last summer. On the other hand, Gotham Knights is a four-player co-op game set in the Batman Arkham universe. Last March, the publisher delayed its release to 2022. Similarly, Harry Potter RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, was initially introduced in September with a release date this year. However, the developers also delayed it into January 2022.
Warner Bros. Games
Additionally, the publisher may be avoiding any expected announcements regarding games based on DC Comics. In relation to Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad, they have been facing questions expected for the DC FanDome event, which is said to return this October 2021.
What’s more, the company is facing a controversy regarding the ownership of Warner Bros. Interactive. According to trusted sources, WarnerMedia will split from At&T and merge with Discovery, coming up with Warner Bros. Discovery. It is still unclear which of the 11 studios under the company will stay with the parent company and which ones will be handed over to the new merged one.
Back 4 Blood Release
Back 4 Blood is the only game ready for its release this 2021. The game is closely related to Left 4 Dead from the same game publishing company. In fact, most fans have already seen the beta last year, which makes their anticipation of its release increase. Warner Bros. Interactive will launch it on October 12 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam.
It makes much sense that Back 4 Blood is the only game among the ones mentioned. Since they are ready, with its beta already experienced.
It is unfortunate for those expecting to receive teasers and other details regarding the three upcoming games. Warner Bros. Interactive’s reasons for not including them are reasonable enough. Perhaps we will get a glimpse of these games shortly when their titles are near their release dates. In the meantime, play these games on your PlayStation and Xbox.
