With its large display and relatively budget-friendly price, the Motorola G Stylus 5G could grab a good crowd of buyers once it is officially released in the US market on June 14th.
For some time now, Motorola has been rolling out quite a number of budget Moto E and Moto G phones, however, only a few of them have truly managed to garner significant attention, particularly in the United States.
In early 2021, the American company broadened its collection by putting out a new model of the Moto G Stylus as part of its stylus-carrying lineup. SlashGear notes that, due to the product not matching up with details from prior leaks and rumors, its release had both onlookers and customers rather confused.
Nevertheless, fact soon surfaced that Motorola did indeed have a more desirable version on the way; that model has now been launched as the Motorola G Stylus 5G, and it will be coming exclusively to the US in no longer than a week.
How is it different from the Moto G Stylus 2021?
Despite having been launched more recently this year, the Motorola G Stylus 5G does not differ too greatly from its predecessor, the Moto G Stylus 2021, by any major features at least. Yes, the latter weighs just slightly more than the newer model, but both products still share a number of specs, such as a 6.8-inch 1080p screen, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 48MP main camera. The Moto G Stylus 5G’s macro camera, however, does have a 5MP upgrade.
Furthermore, both devices share the same kind of stylus, as well as software features that make them both so convincing for their price. Among these common characteristics are apps that pop up upon pulling the stylus out for use, as well as giving users the ability to access Motorola’s Notes app directly from the lockscreen.
Other specs to expect
Although the Motorola G Stylus 5G obviously comes with a stylus, potential buyers who are thinking of purchasing the device for detailed creativity-related purposes should be aware that its accompanying stylus does not feature pressure sensitivity.
Moreover, the chipset that the Moto G Stylus 5G operates on is a Snapdragon 480 5G, with a higher 5,000 mAh battery to complement it. Motorola has also given it 256GB worth of storage space and 6GB RAM, plus a mentioned 128GB storage and 4GB RAM configuration.
The Motorola G Stylus 5G has been set at a price of $399.99 and should be available for purchase in the United States as soon as the 14th of June comes.
The Moto G Stylus 5G could be a great affordable alternative to other smartphone options that come with a stylus, however, those looking for a stylus that comes with pressure sensitivity might be better off investing in a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5g or S21 instead. If you don’t mind a Motorola phone without a stylus, you might want to see if the Motorola Defy XT will suit you better.
