Found love of your life? It’s time to say goodbye to Tinder app now.
Now that it’s pandemic and lockdown in most of the year of 2020, online dating apps have been a great way to meet new people. But, if you’re done with all those things of swiping left and right, how will you permanently delete those apps? Let’s start with Tinder.
Deleting Tinder for good
Let’s say you’re now in a healthy, committed relationship with your partner. Online dating apps should now be on your disposal. Tinder, for example, has ranked third most popular online dating website in the world in March 2020, with roughly 59 million visits during this month.
If you’re planning to delete the app for good, here’s a way to do it.
To permanently delete your Tinder account, go sign-in on your account via app itself or browser. Go to your profile icon, then go to Settings to find ‘Delete your account’ on the bottom part of the drop-down menu.
Just to clarify, deleting the app itself from your phone doesn’t delete your account on Tinder’s system. This means, you can still be viewed and be swiped right by random people online. However, if you want to really delete your account, do the above steps.
Another thing you should remember is when you paid for subscription on Tinder accounts, you will only able to remove the deduction once you cancel your subscription from the Play Store themselves. To do this, just head to the Apple App Store, or Google Play Store (if using Android), and search for the Tinder app on the search bar.
Once done, go to the ‘Manage Subscriptions’ tab on the page, and click the ‘Cancel Subscription’ on the choices. You will be asked again on the subscription, so just click ‘Yes.’
How to temporarlity delete Tinder account?
If you’re not sure whether your partner is the right person for you, and still looking for option to go back in online dating; you can also temporarily delete your Tinder account, if you see fits.
To do this, you can remove your account from the ‘Card Stack’ on the app. This card stack means the people who can be viewed on the app.
You just go to ‘Settings,’ and head to ‘Show me on Tinder.’ Just toggle the option off, to stop yourself being viewed on the app. Once your relationship doesn’t work out, you can just easily toggle the option on for possible next dates.
COVID-19 prevention partnership with dating apps
Last month, several dating apps including Tinder, OkCupid, Hinge, Match etc; partnered with the US White House to prevent the spread of the virus through promoting vaccination among their users. Most of the dating apps are putting vaccination stickers on each users who will confirm their vaccination status on their page.
Once you see these stickers, you will know whether they’re vaccinated or not. This will also increase your chances of being put on the Tinder page, and increasing chances of being able to date someone.
“While our users have continued to connect virtually over the past year, they’re really eager to return to in-person dating as the summer approaches — and we want to help them make those connections safely,” OkCupid CEO Ariel Charytan said in a statement.
