Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan is back. This time, not to give kids the scare of their lives but to make them laugh. Way different from how you know them for sure. But that is what you can expect from Monsters at Work which premiers on Disney+ this coming July 7.
Where Did It All Start?
Just to jog your memory, Monsters. Inc already left the teen years, it has reached its 20th year this 2021. It may seem like just yesterday but here comes another monster story brought by Disney and Pixar. Before you get to the latest installment of the story of Mike and Sully, let’s remember where it all started.
Pixar, the home of Finding Nemo and The Incredibles, brought to theaters year 2001 the reason why children are scared of the dark. Those monsters hiding in children’s closets are employees of Monsters, Inc. It is the most successful scream-processing factory in the monster world, and there is no other Scarer to be afraid of than James P. Sullivan known as “Sully”. However, the monster world turned upside down as a little girl “Boo” accidently entered the Monstropolis. This is when the kindness and softheartedness of the monster “Sully” was revealed as he protects the little girl.
And you also should remember the year 2013, as Pixar released a prequel to this series. This is Monsters University. As you’ve witnessed the career of Sully and Mike in the Monsters. Inc, but what you do not know is how it all started. They were not that great of friends at first. From the time these monsters met, they were great enemies. But this prequel gives us an insight on how they learned to be the best scarers and best of friends. Quite entertaining as they learned the tricks and ways on how to make children scream, and even found ways on finding friends for life.
Monsters At Work
It is now time to reminisce about the story of these two and be mesmerized with these monsters. Now, they are back for an all new Disney+ series to be premiered on July 7. It tells the continuing story of Monsters. Inc. but this time, they do no work to scare children inside their closets or in the dark. They are now bringing children to tears with the Laugh Floor as the scare factory is converted to a laugh factory.
As you remember, the last scene of Monsters, Inc helped them discover that instead of cries and screams of children to use as their power source, their laughs are way more powerful. This explains the reason behind the factory converting into one.
In the released first trailer, it shows a new monster named Tyler Tuskman, who dreams of becoming the next Sully and Mike and shows up from scare school. But to his surprise, his degree cannot be used anymore for it scarers are no longer needed. He is reassigned to the facilities team while a new team of monsters train him. You may check out the series’ trailer here.
Mark your calendars this coming July 7 as you stream this Monsters latest installment and other movies on Disney+.
