As per an official announcement made by Activision, Call of Duty Mobile Season 5: In Deep Water is set to be launched this coming June 28.
Call of Duty Mobile Season 5 will be up and released by June 28 next week at 8pm ET / 5pm PT (for BST, June 29 at 1am). As Video Games Chronicle notes, this latest installment of the game will be following a naval concept that will give players the experience of a whole new theme, operators, weapons, unexplored modes and maps, a new battle royale class and perks, as well as 50 tiers of possible rewards to be gained through Battle Pass.
Activision, publisher of the game, established recently a new internal studio that the company says will be centered on producing the world’s best AAA mobile games, beginning with a new COD series entry.
Things to expect
Ghosts and Federation fighters will be made to compete against one another in the Sea of Steel event, with the objective of capturing map nodes in a race to collect rewards earned by accomplishing daily tasks.
Unlocks with Free Battle Pass come with the K9 Unit Operator Skill once tier 14 has been reached, and at tier 21, the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle. On the other hand, unlocks on Premium Battle Pass include “Merrick and Rorke – Man Hunter from Call of Duty: Ghosts, as well as Otter — Backstroke and Roze — Foreshadow. Intimidate your enemies with new Weapon Blueprints like the Ghost-themed BK57 — Counter Stealth Unit, the QXR — Close Catch, the DR-H — Rebreather, CR-56 AMAX, and the PP19 Bizon — Devilfish”, as listed on a blogpost by COD.
New multiplayer maps and modes
As for fresh multiplayer maps, get ready for Aniyah Incursion (a location that was also present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare), Docks, and Suldal Harbor. Docks, which supports lots of vertical play, is a symmetrical and compact shipyard map featuring the River Thames. Suldal Harbor is a map more medium in size and is home to narrowing alleyways, shipping crates, and other close-quarter interiors.
Ground Mission is a new multiplayer mode to expect, which is a larger-scale rendition of Domination, including five capture points and 10v10 play, as well as Cranked: Confirmed, incorporating Cranked and Kill Confirmed.
A new perk is Gung-Ho, which gives players the ability to hip-fire, throw grenades, and reload whilst sprinting. The all new Time Traveler class on Battle Royale allows for going back in time by a number of seconds for the purpose of gaining the upper hand when in battle, and it also boasts higher resistance to concussion grenades and flashbangs.
Call of Duty: Mobile Season 5 — In Deep Water sounds like a refreshing new installment that a lot of gamers will be able to appreciate, so stay tuned for its release on the 28th. If you’re currently on the market for a trusty smartphone to play your mobile games of choice on, you might want to get a hold of an Apple iPhone 12 Pro or a Sony Xperia 5 II.
