Vivo is allegedly working on a new smartphone that has a flying detachable selfie camera. However, the giant phone maker still hasn’t confirmed the details.
Vivo is claimed to be working on a new smartphone that has its own detachable, flying selfie camera. As of the moment, many developers and other device critics are confused about how the company will make this amazing innovation.
If this is true, there’s a high chance that consumers will transfer to Vivo. The new device could also be one of the most popular smartphones across the globe, it might even be more in-demand than the high-end Samsung Galaxy S21, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13.
Right now, Vivo, and other giant phone manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, and other big names, seems to be enhancing their product’s cameras since people are now looking for smartphones that could give them more detailed and defined videos, as well as captured images.
This information was first discovered by LetsGoDigital, claiming that Vivo will develop a typical-looking device. However, the tech firm claimed that it hides a small quadcopter drone with an integrated camera and battery that can be removed and flown separately to allow for aerial camera angles.
Smartphone With A Flying, Detachable Selfie Cam?
The patent describes a dual-camera system (one front-facing and one facing downwards) and three infrared proximity sensors that would theoretically allow the tiny drone some ability to keep itself from crashing into objects. According to the leaker, Vivo’s new smartphone will offer a flying camera system that can be slid out of the housing, be removed entirely, and allow the smartphone owner to take photos from a greater distance.
On the other hand, LetsGoDigital also claimed that the new Vivo smartphone’s detachable camera could also change position or maintain its position while taking photos or videos. This means that the operation of the rumored mini drone will operate via the new device.
But, the leaked patent did not clarify if the new handset with a detachable camera sensor will support gesture commands. Although this is the case, some rumors claimed that gesture support could also be released so that users can easily pilot the mini camera drone.
Flying, detachable drone camera is not new at all. There are already some manufacturers that are creating this kind of technology. One of these is the so-called Air Pix. However, it is a separate device that is almost the size of a full handset. The idea of integrating a mini flying camera directly into a smartphone is wholly original to Vivo, though the disadvantages of such a design may outweigh the benefits.
This is also the main reason why the new handset of the giant phone manufacturer is now a big deal. If you want to have a functioning detachable smartphone camera selfie, then it should be smaller than the current Air Pix. It should also be tinier than the device itself since it needs to fit within the port.
