Experience the utmost convenience with Spotify’s latest initiative, allowing you to listen to songs on your Apple Watch.
Spotify has finally come up with another level of streaming by allowing users to download songs to their watches, Apple Watch, specifically. Spotify users can now listen to their playlists and favorite songs at home while jogging in the woods without an internet connection, during a road trip where the signal is unstable–anytime, anywhere. This new feature is rolling out now. Unfortunately, users need to upgrade their accounts; the music streaming platform limits this new feature to Spotify Premium accounts.
On May 21, Spotify announced the news in a press release. In a statement, the company said, “Starting today, we’re rolling out the ability to download your favorite playlists, albums, and podcasts on Apple Watch. All users are already able to play tracks, albums, playlists, and podcasts, and now Premium users will also be able to download everything they’re listening to for a true offline and phone-free experience. This is on top of all the other Spotify features on Apple Watch—from Connect & Control to streaming to Siri.”
Spotify also added that they are beginning to roll out the offline mode for Premium Apple Watch users. The then-upcoming feature will be available right after the update of iOS/watchOS release 8.6.28. While much has been said, expect that the launching will not be concurrent but gradually in various countries. The music streaming ends on a positive note, “new overall experience for Spotify on Apple Watch is rolling out to all users globally over the coming weeks.”
How To Play From Your Apple Watch
To play the desired song from Apple Watch, users must connect their Bluetooth headphones to it because it does not play from the watch’s speakers. After connecting, the listening will follow automatically directly from the watch and the apps that support it, including Spotify.
How To Download Spotify Playlists
There are only a few quick steps on how to download Spotify playlists on your Apple Watch. Here’s how:
- Open Spotify on iPhone.
- Choose a particular playlist. (Please take note that it does not allow downloading individual tracks).
- Click the three dots, and tap “Download to Apple Watch.”
- Open the Apple Watch, then the app.
- Tap the phone icon to decide where you are listening from, then choose the watch. Choosing the watch means it acts as a remote for the phone, meaning the playlist will actually play from the watch, even if the phone is nowhere to be found.
How Many Songs Are Allowed To Download?
Spotify allows each playlist 50 tracks. As for the playlists, it has no limitations. Also, please consider how much the watch can last; it is up to 10 hours using audio in most cases.
