Your conversations are about to get louder and more fun with the launching of “Soundmojis”. Facebook Messenger announced last Thursday about its new features that will give a voice to the all-loved emojis.
Emojis have been used by almost everyone. No doubt, these small icons and images make the chats and messages more colorful and interactive. According to Facebook, “Everyday, people send more than 2.4 billion messages with emojis on Messenger”. More so, this is how enormous the effect of emojis is with everyday conversations. Aside from that, people get to convey their messages clearly through these emojis. And here are the details of the latest update from Facebook Messenger.
You read it correctly, sound + emoji = Soundmojis. These are the latest expression tools that you can use on Messenger to make the conversation louder. CNET explains that the new features adds expressions to the emoji that can be heard by users. It then can be accessed through a loudspeaker icon.
Basically, Soundmojis are next-level emojis you can send through Messenger that include short sound clips. These range from clapping, sound of the crickets, drumroll for your exciting news, and lastly, the infamous evil laughter. All these newly evolved emoji provide actual laughter and applause sounds.
Aside from these typical Soundmojis, you may also expect ones inspired by pop culture. For instance, snippets from TV shows and movies like Bridgerton, Universal Pictures’ F9, NBC and Universal Television’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine are also available. There are also audio clips from your favorite artists like Rebecca Black.
How To Try It?
This announcement is just in time with the upcoming celebration of World Emoji Day. That is how significant emojis are that people even made a holiday of it. Also, people are critical in terms of emojis as they believe it should reflect inclusivity and diversity. It has been reported recently that handshake emoji with multiple skin tones have been recently added to the emoji library.
More so, the upcoming Emoji 14 update includes more emojis. The additions to the library include more hand positions with multi-color selections and even a new mixed-color handshake. Again, emojis are considered as a big deal as some users based on a study claim that they should represent themselves. A much wider and more inclusive emoji library allows people to communicate and feel represented.
Now if you want to try Soundmojis yourself, here is how you can send one. First, check your Messenger app and start a chat with someone. You can then tap the smiley face to open the expressions menu. From there, look for the loudspeaker icon. This will now show you the array of options for your Soundmojis and send it to everyone.
As of the moment, the social media giant promises to expand and update the newly launched library of the Soundmojis in the months to come. Expect new sound effects and famous sound bites to choose from.
