Netflix recently added two more features to their platform, designed specifically for its youngest audience. First tool is a much easier way to find age-appropriate shows for your kids. Also, the company will be providing email notifications for parents’ monitoring. Now, kids get to enjoy their Netflix time better.
The company is one of the biggest streaming services there is on the market. It clearly targets audiences of all ages, as shows with a variety of topics are available on the platform. Shows and movies from documentaries to cartoons can be watched by the whole family. However, due to the wide range of options, kids watching on their own is not always safe. For parents’ peace of mind, here are the details of the additional features.
Netflix Kids’ New Top 10 Row
As audiences already know, the platform provides a Top 10 row that shows the most popular titles on the service. It is often the newest releases of the company and makes finding titles to stream a lot easier. And starting this week, the Netflix Kid’s Top 10 row will be seen in 93 countries. This row will be updated daily showing the most viewed shows and movies with the regional equivalent of a PG and below rating.
The company also confirms with The Verge that this new top 10 will be available on TV apps, web, and mobile (iOS and Android). However, there is an exception of Apple TV. Not clear why. Also, part of this exception would be older devices. Make sure to have your device updated and see the feature in your app.
Netflix Kids Recap Email
Another update for kids and their parents would be the Netflix Kids Recap Email to start later this week. This email notification system will be sent biweekly. Once you create at least one kid’s profile setup in your Netflix account, the company will send you email notification. It will include tips to use the platform’s features, and probably the most useful would be a monitoring feature. The email will notify you of the kind of shows and movies your kids watch in the kids profile. Moreover, it will recommend similar content based on the viewing history.
This way, parents have a clearer view of their child’s favorites and preferences and more ways to engage in those interests. You may also receive printable coloring sheets and activities that are inspired from your kids favorite characters. So that you have their ways to have fun aside from watching.
‘CoCoMelon’ and ‘Little Baby Bum’ Now On Netflix
Aside from these additional features, recent news about Netflix provides more options for kids’ programming. Earlier this week, Netflix announced a partnership with Moonbug Entertainment to bring you shows featuring characters from the popular animated CoComelon and Little Baby Bum. It was also reported to begin streaming next year.
Netflix executive, Heather Tilert, also added that they are “thrilled to partner with Moonbug to expand the worlds of both shows, and to bring our youngest viewers even more songs, stories, and adventures from some of their favorite animated friends.”
All these updates are a way to open up learning and more activities to your kids. Also, connecting with your kids and to the whole family is more fun with it.
