New Samsung foldable smartphones, especially Z Flip 3 and Z Fold, could have cheap prices, comparable to standard models, and official IP ratings.
Samsung confirmed that its upcoming Unpacked Event will soon unveil the latest foldable smartphones of the giant manufacturer. This most-awaited event will take place on August 11.
However, Samsung’s upcoming event will not be the same as the previous years since participants will no longer attend the actual venue. Instead, the tech giant creator decided to make it a virtual announcement, which will start at exactly 7:00 a.m. PT.
On the other hand, various leakers already provided some important details regarding the next-generation gadgets of Samsung, especially the new Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold. But, before you make your own conclusion, you need to remember that these details came from a European tech retailer called LambdaTek, which is not typically well-known for leaking product prices ahead of their launch schedules.
As of the moment, Samsung still hasn’t made any statement regarding the leak. The company is currently focusing on improving its system that would allow consumers to reserve their preferred foldable smartphone model. Specifically, the giant tech firm already opened its so-called Reserve Now system, which enables Galaxy fans to claim a device in advance.
On the other hand, Samsung consumers will also have various tech benefits when they use the company’s new system. These include an extra $100 trade-in credit, a special pre-order offer, as well as its Care Plus 12-month free trial.
How Cheap Are the New Galaxy Foldables?
Samsung recently announced its popular Galaxy S21 smartphone, which costs around $200 less compared to its predecessors. On the other hand, it also revealed its Galaxy A, which is another cheaper product. Now, the tech giant manufacturer claimed that its upcoming foldable smartphones will be more budget-friendly compared to the mentioned models.
TM Roh, Samsung’s Mobile Head Manager, explained that the tech giant manufacturer plans to expand its foldable lineup to more consumers. If the popular developer wants to do this, then it needs to adjust the pricing to a more affordable one so that more customers can buy it.
Roh added that “the Z Fold 2 was praised as a smartphone that reimagines what’s possible with mobile technology, and I’m excited to say, it’s just a hint of what’s to come as we continue to explore, evolve and expand this category-changing space.”
Going back to the company’s upcoming foldable handset models, LambdTek’s listing revealed that the new Galaxy Z Fold will be available in three variants. These include the Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Green options. On the other hand, it is expected that the next-generation smartphone will cost around $1,980, which is almost the same price as the current Galaxy Fold 2.
On the other hand, the new foldable handset Galaxy Z Flip 3 could start at around $1,150. This model will offer a whopping 128GB of storage. Meanwhile, its 256GB variant is expected to have a price tag of $1,200. This more expensive model will have a wide range of variants, including white, light pink, dark blue, lavender, green, cream, and black options. If those prices are legit, getting the Z Flip3 under $1,000 could be a big deal for the mainstream adoption of foldable phones, as it would position the Z Flip3 to compete better with more traditional premium phones.
