The most-awaited Sona Rework could soon arrive this upcoming League of Legends Patch 11.16. Will Riot Games’ adjustments make her the ultimate support?
Riot Games is currently planning to enhance one of the most iconic supports in League of Legends. Many players are now getting nuts since some leakers claimed that the upcoming Sona rework will arrive in the Summoner’s Rift new version, specifically the Patch 11.16.
Before the confirmation of Riot Games, League of Legends fans has already started talking about the arrival of Sona Rework for the past few months. And now, Sona mains will be even more excited since the giant game developer announced that their speculations will soon be a reality.
Sona is one of the best support champions in League of Legends. All her skills are unique from one another. Thanks to her in-game mechanic, gamers can easily make great plays even from level 1 to level 5. This means that they don’t really need to rely on their last skill.
On the other hand, her R skill or special ability allows you to stun all the enemies covered within its range. If executed properly, this ability can lead to a great setup, allowing your remaining teammates to follow up on their CC skills.
Sona’s Rework In Patch 11.16
Earlier this month, players learned that the updates to one of the game’s oldest support champions will launch alongside League of Legends Patch 11.16. And today, those changes became available to test on the game’s Public Beta Environment. Riot Games also confirmed that all of Sona’s abilities will receive some serious enhancements.
The rework to Sona won’t be classified as a “major update,” according to a statement made by League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer Jeevun Sidhu last month. But the champion will still be receiving a respectable amount of tweaking when Patch 11.16 goes live in three weeks. Sona mains shouldn’t expect massive changes to the champion’s abilities to come to fruition in the immediate future.
Mainly, the incoming Sona changes revolve around a new ability haste mechanic in her passive, Accelerando. The new passive allows Sona to gain stacks of ability haste each time she uses her abilities in combat. When the LoL support hero reaches 120 stacks, she’ll start to see the cooldown of her ultimate get reduced as well. This ability, as well as other balancing tweaks, aim to make Sona more prominent as a viable support option and as a dependable solo laner, too.
LoL players who have access to the PBE now have the opportunity to test out all the changes coming to Sona. The champion is set to undergo these alterations when Patch 11.16 goes live on Aug. 11. But, the launch date and other released details will still depend on the final decision of Riot Games. The best thing you can do right now as a player is to wait for the giant game developer’s further announcements.
