LG wireless earbuds could come with a new feature called “whispering mode.”
LG’s popular Tone Free FP true LG wireless earbuds could come with a new feature called “whispering mode” where users will be able to hold the right earbud next to their mouths when they are making calls in order to transform it into a dedicated microphone.
LG Wireless Earbuds FP5, FP8, and FP9
This is a neat privacy-conscious feature for those that don’t really want to speak loud enough in order for the wireless buds to pick up sounds.
There will be three new LG wireless earbuds lineups called the FP5, the FP8, and the FP9 which all share the same specs. All of them are reportedly noise canceling and would have three microphones each earbud along with an IPX4 water resistance rating in order to withstand light slashes.
LG Wireless Earbuds Specs
The wireless buds stems are reportedly 4.4mm shorter compared to the previous LG models. They have reportedly improved drivers and diaphragms which LG reportedly claim to offer more bass without actually impacting the gadget’s clarity.
Headphone Spatial Processing as well as 3D Sound Stage would provide a full audioexperience that surrounds the listener themselves, according to the story by The Verge.
These, however, are individual features that are exclusive to one or two of the headphones. Most interesting of these is actually reserved for the FP9 wireless buds, whose case might double as a wireless transmitter in order to allow the buds to be used along with non-Bluetooth devices.
With a USB-C to aux cable, the case can then be plugged directly into anything from game consoles to other in-flight entertainment systems while removing the need to use another separate Bluetooth adapter. This would be similar to what was seen from Bowers and Wilkins’ P17 wireless earbuds that launched earlier this 2021.
LG Bacteria-Killing UV Tech
The FP8 and FP9 wireless buds also reportedly feature LG’s very own bacteria-killing UV tech. The company claims that this can kill 99.9% of bacteria on the wireless buds’ speaker mesh in just five minutes in order to reduce the chance of inner ear infections.
The two wireless buds have also improved battery life compared to the other FP5 and are capable of running for 10 hours on a single charge. It can also reportedly run up to 24 hours with the use of a charging case. Only the FP8 model which would support wireless charging.
With the addition of a microphone option for the other earbud, users will be able to not just listen to music but also take calls better on the go since the other bud can be used as a microphone. If this wireless earbuds technology does make a difference, this could be a feature that could be seen on other devices as well.
