The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 leaks have started to unfold and one of them is that the new device could be getting rid of the S Pen slot.
One feature that is mostly sure as of the moment is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 which would reportedly support the Samsung S Pen stylus. The pen was previously offered by the Galaxy Note range as well as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The support has already been widely rumored, according to the story by TechRadar, however, it’s not been clear as to whether or not there would really be a slot for the S Pen which now looks quite unlikely.
Ishan Agarwal, a particular leaker that has a decent track record, has just said that there will be a separate S Pen Fold Edition for the Samsung Galaxy foldable smartphone. There will also reportedly be a “Note Pack” case in order to store the stylus with the phone.
S Pen Fold Edition?
Quite presumably, the S Pen Fold Edition will be coming with both the stylus as well as the case. However, it’s still not completely clear from the tweet.
In any case, if the leak is right, there won’t be any slot for the S Pen in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphone itself. If there was, this would mean that owners would no longer need the case.

It is also worth noting that this particular claim is a bit at odds with at least one leak which notes that the Samsung Galaxy foldable smartphone cover screen could be slightly smaller in order to leave no space left for the S Pen stylus slot.
Agarwal also makes a claim that in addition to the Note Pack case, there will also be one in silicone, leather, and even an aramid case for the Samsung foldable smartphone.
S Pen Slot
Although there could be some that would be disappointed by the lack of a dedicated S Pen slot, the move reportedly makes sense. It was said that there will probably be more people that don’t really care about the stylus and for them, it would just be wasted space resulting in a bulky phone.
If Samsung built a certain slot in it would also most likely be motivated to include the S Pen as a standard with the phone. This, however, wouldn’t come free.
Either this move is a more economical move for Samsung to sell the S Pen separately or the company might have a different idea on what they want the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 should look. This, of course, is still unconfirmed and as of the moment, if the new smartphone would come out slimmer, this could have a positive effect on the upcoming buyers that want slimmer phones.
