Make your game extra exciting with this new Xbox Night Mode.
On Friday, Aug. 6, Microsoft Xbox released a new blog post introducing the newest Xbox Night Mode. The new feature allows gamers to turn their consoles and screens into dimmer light, and even control the LED brightness. Unfortunately, the new patch is not yet available for public audiences. Here’s everything you should know about this update.
Xbox Insider Release Notes: Night Mode
The newest Xbox Insider Release Notes posted on its website introduces Microsoft Xbox’s new Night Mode. The software giant said that the Night Mode feature is not yet available to the public. However, testers are now reportedly trying out the feature for possible bugs that they might encounter.
The update named 2109.210804-2200 is for Alpha Skip-Ahead ring users that allow the Night Mode settings on consoles. Based on the blog post, this feature will let players dim and filter their screen, as well as dim their console and controller LED brightness.
Basically, everything that you can imagine to do on a Night Mode.
Another interesting addition to that feature is the ‘set a schedule’ option on the update. This means players can customize the exact time to use the Night Mode feature. Players are advised to just go to Settings, go to ‘Set a Schedule,’ and pick either automatic or manual. Once they’re all set, the Xbox controller and screen can automatically change to Night Mode when you play at day, for example.
Night Mode release date
According to the blog post, the Xbox Night Mode feature will be made available starting Friday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. PT. A day after that, the feature will be made mandatory at 3 a.m PT.
As reiterated by Xbox, the Night Mode feature still depends on the available area where you are located. English is also the only available language on this feature.
Xbox free games to watch out
Relative to the Xbox Night Mode feature, Xbox Live Gold is now offering three Xbox games to watch out for the month of August.
Starting today until Aug. 15, all Xbox One and Xbox Series X users can download ‘Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break’ and ‘Lost Planet 3’ for free. Meanwhile, the third game called ‘Darksiders III’ will be made available until the end of the month or Aug. 31.
If you are new to downloading games on Xbox Live Gold, you need to make sure to keep tabs on when you will be downloading the free games on your console. All free Xbox games have a time limit to download them so take note.
Another thing to take note of is that you can only download the free games if you are a member of Xbox Live Gold. Once you’re no longer have a subscription to the program, the player will also lose access to the free games, or a chance to download them.
In its last blog post, Microsoft Xbox said that the Xbox Live Gold prices will not change. This means, in the US, the prices will range at $9.99 for 1-month, $24.99 for 3-months, $39.99 for 6-months and $59.99 for retail 12-months.
