The website now finds its new home with Epik web host as GoDaddy throws them under the bus.
There’s a newly-implemented restriction that Texas did against abortion. Called SB 8, the legislation restricts all Texans to have an abortion after six weeks of pregnancy. That was implemented last Wednesday, Sept. 1.
As reported, its website ‘Texas Right to Life’ also went effective on the same day. The website allows anyone to report an alleged abortion against the said ruling. Since not everyone is happy with SB 8, the website reported thousands of spam reports on what appears to be from pro-abortion citizens.
Now, its former web host provider, GoDaddy, has recently given the website a 24-hour deadline to find another company to host the “whistleblower site.” The company explained that the ‘Texas Right to Life’ website violated one of its rules on sites: do not harvest or collect any information from users.
Fortunately for some, the website is now ongoing again after the Epik web host welcomed the site.
What is SB 8?
Texas is now one of the most trending keywords on social media platforms. This was after its implementation of the law called SB 8. As said, this law stops all women from getting abortion when they are six weeks pregnant already.
As explained, this will stop the rate of abortion cases in Texas from now on. Though many Texans showed support for the pro-life law, thousands of other people — Texans or not– recently stand on what they think is right.
Tech Visibility reported on Friday, Sept. 3, that dating apps companies Bumble and Match recently collaborated to make a fund for women who want to have an abortion. The said fund reportedly will help them do the procedure on other states that abortion is legal.
Match CEO Shar Dubey was quoted saying, “Surely everyone should see the danger of this highly punitive and unfair law that doesn’t even make an exception for victims of rape or incest.”
GoDaddy pulls the plug, Epik as new home
GoDaddy is one of the most popular website host provider in the world. That is why thousands of people also scrutinized the company for allowing the Texas website to be online.
Finally, the company pulled the plug against the site on Friday, Sept. 3.
“Last night we informed prolifewhistleblower.com they have violated GoDaddy’s terms of service and have 24 hours to move to a different provider,” the company said on Twitter early Friday morning.
Unfortunately for pro-abortion citizens, the website is still online thanks to its new home, Epik.
Unlike GoDaddy, Epik mostly controls the websites of other controversial sites like Parler and Gab, as said on The Verge report.
As of now, there is no available statement coming from the Texas government or Epik on this new collaboration. As of this writing, we also checked the controversial website of ‘Texas Right to Life’ called ‘ProlifeWhistleblower,’ the site is still down.
It warns: “Your access to this service has been limited. (HTTP response code 503). If you think you have been blocked in error, contact the owner of this site for assistance.”
