Samsung has announced the launch of a limited-edition Galaxy Watch 4 sustainable watchband collection in collaboration with fashion designer Sami Miró. The collection, which includes six eco-friendly watchbands and three watchfaces that can be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store, is already available for purchase.
Sami Miró Vintage
Sami Miró made a name for herself by starting Sami Miró Vintage with upcycled materials, and she has continued to push the boundaries of eco-conscious fashion since then. The Los Angeles-based entrepreneur has led the way in demonstrating to the fashion industry what it means to run a sustainable business.
As a result, Miró has amassed a cult following among A-listers who are frequently seen wearing iconic SMV pieces from season to season. Miró claims that she designed her Galaxy Watch 4 collection with every person and occasion in mind, just like any other SMV collection.
“The colors Stratus Sky, Cloud Navy, and Midnight Black can translate from day to night while the Aurora Night and Dawn Atlas have gem hues and are perfect for when you are in the mood for a pop of color,” said Sami Miró, founder of Sami Miró Vintage. “I am proud that we sourced sustainable materials for the entire collection. My designs were inspired by the beauty of our planet and I want the collection to serve as a reminder to stay mindful and connected to the Earth.”
Starting Sustainability For The Future, Now
The neutral Stratus Sky and Midnight Black watchbands are made from an innovative Apple Peel skin material sourced from waste recovered from the fruit industry, and they transition seamlessly from day to night. It has the look and feel of leather, but it’s cruelty-free and vegan.
The Aurora Night, Cloud Navy, Earth Sunrise, and Dawn Atlas bands, like the Apple Peel skin watchbands, are made of a non-toxic Eco-friendly TPU material. The entire collection contains no DMF residue, is non-plasticized, and can be recycled when the time comes.
The bands’ color palette includes violet, aqua blue, and mauve pink, as well as black and grey leather-look models. The watch faces, dubbed SMV Atlas I, SMV Serenity, and SMV Atlas II, feature the same colors.
“The collection draws inspiration from the beauty and colors of Mother Earth to serve as a reminder to prioritize mindfulness, health, wellness, and sustainability each day,” Samsung noted.
This aligns with the Galaxy Watch 4’s focus on health, which includes features that track oxygen levels, stress levels, water intake, and sleep patterns. It also includes fitness features such as guided workouts, group challenges, and other activities.
Choose from a variety of guided workouts, participate in Group Challenges with your friends and family, or set up a home gym by connecting your Galaxy Watch 4 to a compatible Samsung Smart TV when you’re ready to get moving. Track your fitness progress with key measurements for skeletal muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, body water, and body fat percentage using Samsung’s new Body Composition measurement tool.
Starting at $40, the limited-edition collection is now available on Samsung.com.
