Apple Health App is now being used by the United Airlines to make traveling for passengers easier and smoother during the ongoing pandemic!
Apple Health App is now being integrated by United Airlines so that its passengers would have easier and smoother travel processes. Right now, this flight agency and other similar companies are trying their best to make your flights as safe as possible.
You can’t stop people from traveling since they need to visit some of their loved ones and relatives, especially their families. This is why Apple and other giant tech firms are creating various technologies to help people be safe when they are going to other countries or far away places.
However, government officials are trying to restrict people from going to other places without important agendas. They are implementing various safety measures and restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19 since medical experts are discovering more deadly and contagious variants.
Although this is the case, they are still allowing vaccinated individuals to have their flights since they would not easily get infected. But, they still need to show their COVID-19 vaccination records to avoid any conflict. This is why United Airlines decided to integrate Apple Health app into its system.
United Airlines x Health App Collaboration
The latest Apple Health app integration was confirmed by United Airlines on Friday, Oct. 1. The giant flight agency explained that this innovation would allow iPhone users to demonstrate they’ve been vaccinated against covid-19 using the Health app. In order to take advantage of this new service, you must be running iOS 15, which allows individuals to download their verifiable health records and covid-19 test results via SMART Health Cards—and store them in Apple Health.
United Airlines‘ new Apple Health app integration is quite essential since all travelers are currently required to show their COVID-19 vaccination cards. The new tech would allow them to show their vaccination records ahead of their flight schedules, making it easier for them to have their flights once they arrive at the airport. Here’s how they can use the latest integration;
- Customers with upcoming travel requiring proof of vaccination can visit the Travel-Ready Center on United’s iOS app
- Customers can select the option to upload vaccine documentation
- Customers can then click on “Upload” then “Share your SMART Health Card”
- The Apple Health app will automatically open and ask customers for permission to share their verifiable vaccination records with United
- Once confirmed, the vaccination records will automatically be uploaded, verified on United’s system and records will be stored until they complete their travels.
As of the moment, the new Apple Health app integration is just one of the efforts made by United Airlines to reduce possible COVID-19 infections in its staff and passengers. You can definitely expect more similar innovations from this flight agency in the following months or years, depending on the global status of the viral disease.
