Google officially announces the new Android 12 software for smartphones. Here’s how you can install it, its actual global release, and other details.
Google already made Android 12 the official smartphone system of Google Pixel models and other mobile gadget brands. The search engine giant confirmed this detail on Oct. 4. However, it seems like Pixel and other smartphone users are still unable to install the latest mobile software.
Although this is the case, Google said that they would be able to download the new Android 12 version in the coming weeks. On the other hand, the giant tech firm also confirmed that the new smartphone system is an open-source one.
This means that many smartphone developers can use the new Android 12 code for their own user interfaces. Specifically, the innovation of Google allows Samsung’s OneUI, OnePlus’s OxygenOS, and Xiaomi’s MIUI to create similar software models for their own smartphones.
In fact, many brands have announced plans to release the next version of their own OS based on Android 12 soon. One of them is the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo, which confirmed that it would soon release its own ColorOS version based on Google’s new smartphone software. The company said that it is planning to announce the new ColorOS this coming Oct. 19.
