With over 2.85 billion monthly active users, Facebook is without a doubt the most popular social networking platform ever created. This includes mobile users as well.

Many iPhone users, however, have reported that the Facebook app fails to load feeds or crashes unexpectedly.

You’ve come to the right place if you’ve been on the receiving end of a similar problem. We’ll go over several troubleshooting techniques for fixing Facebook app issues on your iPhone. So, let’s get this party started.

1. Check your internet connection

Because the Facebook app requires an active internet connection to function, you should first check your phone’s internet connections. Open Safari on your iPhone and check to see if the websites are loading properly.

If your internet connection is stable and you’re using mobile data, you may ensure that the Facebook app can access it. To do so, launch the Settings app and select Mobile Data from the drop-down menu. If it isn’t already, turn on the slider next to the Facebook app.

2. Check to see if Facebook is down

If history has taught us anything, it’s that even Facebook experiences downtime. Yes, it’s possible that Facebook’s unavailability on iPhone is due to a problem on Facebook’s end rather than vice versa.

Many large providers, including Facebook, have services like Downdetector that track service disruptions.

3. Clear the browser cache

Did you know that, like Safari and Chrome, Facebook’s browser collects cache data from websites you visit? Yes, the cache and cookies data from links viewed in Facebook’s mobile browser are also collected.

This data could be preventing your iPhone’s Facebook app from running properly. As a result, you can try to clear the cache by following the instructions below.

Step 1: Open Facebook and tap the three horizontal lines in the lower-right corner. Go to Settings under Settings & Privacy.

Step 2: Select Browser from the Permissions section at the bottom of the page.

Finally, tap the Clear button next to ‘Your browsing data’ to clear the browser’s cache data.

4. Reboot your phone

It’s possible that one of the apps or processes on your iPhone is causing issues with the app. As a result, you can try rebooting your iPhone to close all of them and then see if the app works now.

5. Reinstall the app

If none of the following suggestions work, you can try reinstalling the app on your iPhone. This will erase the app’s associated data and update it at the same time.

6. Update iOS

After that, you can try updating your iPhone to the most recent iOS version. It’s possible that the problem is specific to the iOS version you’re using, and that updating to a newer version will resolve it.

Launch the Settings app and go to General to update your iPhone. To check for new updates, go to the Software Updates option.

7. Reset your iPhone

If your issues aren’t restricted to the Facebook app, you might want to attempt restarting your iPhone. Things like Wi-Fi passwords and settings preferences will be reset to their default values. This is how you do it.

Step 1: On your iPhone, open the Settings app and go to General settings.

Step 2: Select Reset from the menu, then Reset All Settings. To confirm and start the process, enter your password.

8. Try Facebook Lite

If the problem persists, you might try switching to Facebook Lite, a leaner version of the app, especially if you’re using an old iPhone or one with limited free storage space. The Facebook Lite app, as the name suggests, is less demanding in terms of memory usage and provides practically every necessary feature.

Return to socializing

Given how much time we spend on social media platforms such as Facebook, any downtime with the app causes us concern. However, if you follow the steps outlined above, the Facebook difficulties should be resolved permanently. Let us know in the comments which strategy worked best for you.
