The Google Pixel 6 Pro is the best option right now if you want to get your hands on the best Android phone in 2021. It’s a smartphone with all of the high-end specs and features you’d expect from a flagship, all while undercutting its competitors.

There are plenty of other options to consider if you’re looking for the best budget Android phone with different software or a more unique design.

What are the top 3 Android phones?

1. Google Pixel 6 Pro

Google is changing all of that with the Pixel 6 Pro. The phone has the same hardware as Samsung and Xiaomi’s latest flagships, but it doesn’t sacrifice camera innovation; in fact, Google has managed to deliver significant improvements in this area. There’s now a 50MP primary camera that takes excellent photos, as well as an ultra-wide lens that performs admirably and a 48MP zoom lens with 4x optical zoom.

That means the Pixel 6 Pro has the best cameras of any phone on the market today, but it’s more than just a camera phone; the rest of the hardware is also refined. The phone has a beautiful back design with a wide camera bar, a 6.71-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, and a large 5000mAh battery with 30W wired and 23W wireless charging.

The internal hardware is a true differentiator; the Pixel 6 Pro is the first phone to feature Google’s custom Tensor platform, which is on par with Qualcomm and Samsung’s latest offerings. It has two Cortex X1 cores, as well as A76 and energy-efficient A55 cores, making it capable of handling anything you throw at it.

PROS

  • Best cameras available on any phone
  • Most recent internal hardware
  • Stunning 120Hz AMOLED display
  • Stunning 120Hz AMOLED display
  • Less expensive than its competitors

CONS

  • Limited availability right now
  • Build quality is inferior to competitors

2. Samsung Galaxy S21

The display on the Galaxy S21 is one of its strongest features. It’s a Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and it’s nothing short of fantastic. The picture isn’t quite as sharp as the S21 Ultra’s Quad HD+ resolution, but thanks to the smaller 6.2-inch display, it still looks crisp.

Because of its small size and lightweight design, the S21 is a comfortable phone to use thanks to its smaller display and plastic construction.

Performance is another highlight. The Snapdragon 888 processor and 8GB of RAM are included in the Galaxy S21. Whatever tasks you throw at the phone, it will easily handle them.

There’s also a 4,000 mAh battery for all-day use, IP68 dust/water resistance, and 128GB or 256GB of storage to choose from. The camera experience isn’t as impressive as the S21 Ultra’s, but it’s a step up from the S20 FE, and it’s a nice middle ground between the two.

The Galaxy S21 comes with three guaranteed Android updates and four years of security patches, making it one of the best phones for long-term use.

PROS

  • Design that is small and light
  • Snapdragon 888 is a powerhouse in terms of performance
  • 120Hz AMOLED display
  • Cameras that are extremely capable
  • Battery life lasts all day

CONS

  • No expandable storage
  • There is no MST for Samsung Pay

3. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The S21 Ultra is Samsung’s top-of-the-line flagship for 2021, and its premium nature is obvious in almost every way. The display, for starters, is a massive 6.8-inch panel capable of simultaneously running a Quad HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate — something that only a few smartphones are capable of.

The Snapdragon 888 chipset is at the heart of the S21 Ultra, which comes with either 12 or 16GB of RAM. In practice, this means the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the fastest smartphones available.

Other high-end features include a 5,000mAh battery, up to 512GB of storage, an IP68 water/dust resistance rating, and a larger in-screen fingerprint sensor that’s much faster and easier to use than the S20 FE’s.

A 108MP sensor in the primary camera captures extremely detailed and colorful images. The 8MP ultra-wide lens delivers excellent results. The two telephoto cameras, with zoom distances of 3x and 10x, produce some of the best zoom images we’ve ever seen.

PROS

  • Stunning design
  • Display in Quad HD+ resolution with a refresh rate of 120Hz
  • Snapdragon 888 is a lightning-fast processor
  • The new camera system is excellent
  • Compatible with the S Pen

CONS

  • It lacks expandable storage and MST
  • It’s a huge phone
