Retrieve A Lost iPhone Even if the Battery Is Dead

Suppose you’ve lost your iPhone and have tried unsuccessfully to call the number using your spouse’s phone. To make matters worse, your iPhone’s battery is dead. According to a news outlet, a recent upgrade to the Find My app will allow you to locate your device even if it is turned off or has run out of charge.

Even if your iPhone’s battery is dead, you can still track it down

This is compatible with all iPhone 11, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13 models running iOS 15, and the process begins by ensuring that all three Find My app functions are active.

Go to Settings > [Your name at the top of the phone] > Find My to do so. Tap on Find My iPhone at the top of the screen, and three separate options with toggle switches should appear.

By default, Find My iPhone should be turned on. You can use this function to find, lock, or wipe your iPhone and its supported accessories. Without your password, the device cannot be deleted and revived.

Even when your iPhone is offline, in battery reserve mode, or turned off, the Find My Network feature allows you to locate it.

If your iPhone is compatible with the Find My app and runs on iOS 15, even if it is not connected to cellular or Wi-Fi and is offline, Find My Network will still allow you to track down your device. The Find My app can be used to track down such a device for up to 24 hours after it has been turned off.

Your phone’s location is automatically sent to Apple if the battery life reaches a critical low level. Send Last Location is the feature, and it should be toggled on, just as Find My iPhone and Find My Network.

Here’s how it works now that you’ve set up your iPhone and the Find My app. If you have an Apple Watch and your phone goes lost, slide up on the screen and press on the iPhone icon with sound waves. Even if your phone is on silent, this tap will make it produce a noise that you can hear.

If you don’t have an Apple Watch but do have an iPad or MacBook, you can use the Find My app to make your iPhone ring so you can find it. Open the Find My app on your MacBook and select Devices from the drop-down menu. Select the device you’re looking for from the Devices list.

If the device is found, it will appear on the map so you can see where it is, as well as the position and current timestamp under the device’s name.

The location is approximate if you see a blue circle around the device’s name. You’ll notice words to that effect if the gadget can’t be found.

When you click the info button (the I inside a circle), select Notify When Found to be notified when the device is found.

You are not doomed if your missing iPhone is your only Apple device. You can use your PC’s web browser to follow these instructions:

  • Go to iCloud.com and sign in.
  • Look for the Find iPhone feature.
  • Sign in again after selecting Find iPhone.
  • To find your misplaced iPhone, go to All Devices.
  • Select the phone you’ve misplaced and press the Play Sound button.

If you’re too far away from your missing phone to hear a sound, you can visualize it on a map.
