Chromebook cameras include a variety of extra features that might help you be more productive by performing small activities. You won’t need third-party apps for tasks like QR scanning, document scanning, photo shooting, and more with these powerful features.
Let’s have a look at what your Chromebook camera can offer.

A Chromebook allows you to shoot high-resolution images, which is a fundamental camera feature. It features autofocus, which sharpens your photographs by focusing the camera lens on the subject.
To straighten your images, use the gridlines option, which you may enable or disable in the camera settings. You may also turn on the photo mirroring feature, which allows you to flip your photos.
You may fast capture images with the volume up and down buttons if your smartphone is set to Tablet mode. If your device has two cameras, you may easily switch between them by utilizing the left-hand switch option.
Video calling
Google Meet, Google’s own video conferencing program, allows you to effortlessly create immediate meetings, schedule meetings, chat during conversations, share your desktop screen, and much more.
Other video conferencing apps include Google Duo, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. Meet, on the other hand, provides excellent connectivity with Google apps and Chrome OS.
Hold Webinars

You may easily join or host webinars from your Chromebook. You may install a Chrome extension for popular webinar software like Cisco Webex. You can then participate in or host activities.
You can start an online conference at any time by pinning these web apps to your home screen. On your Chromebook, you don’t need to install or configure apps.
Scan QR codes
A Quick Response scanner, or QR scanner, is included by default in the camera app on Chromebooks. This powerful QR scanner can scan most codes with pinpoint accuracy.
The built-in camera app makes it simple to use this feature. Simply open the app and select the Scan option from the bottom row. Select QR from the bottom of the following screen.
Scan documents

There’s no need for a real scanner, and there’s no need to download any third-party document scanning programs.
Select the Scan option at the bottom of the Camera app on your Chromebook. The scanning camera will be opened. Ensure that the Document mode is selected at the bottom.
You can send scanned documents by email or Bluetooth and save them as images or PDF files.
Record videos
The Photo mode is selected by default when you start the Camera app. Select Video mode from the bottom to record a video. Press the red Record button on the right side of the screen when you’re ready to record the video.
It will then begin recording the video and indicate the duration of the recording. To stop recording, hit the same button one more.
You may find your recorded videos in the Gallery, or you can browse recently recorded videos by clicking in the bottom right corner of the Camera app.
