Intel has finally unveiled its newest desktop graphics card—the Arc A380 from the Arch Alchemist series. First sold in China and produced by the Chinese graphics card manufacturer Gunnir, the card boasts high clock speeds. The GPU is expected to rival the Radeon RX 6400. Sadly, users still have to wait for a while before being able to purchase it.

It has been a while since the Arch A380 is hyped on different social media platforms and after a lot of delays, Intel finally rolled out their first gaming graphics card.
GPU Specifications
Intel’s new Arc A380 GPU is equipped with an ACM-G11 GPU and eight Xe-Cores for graphics processing. It boasts a 2000MHz base clock and a GDDR6 memory with a bandwidth of 192GB/s, a memory size of 6GB at 16Gbps, and a 96-bit bus. As for the TDP, it has a default of 75W which means that it is not a power-hungry GPU compared to other high-end gaming graphics cards. It comes with a simple design and a single fan configuration which is enough to properly dissipate the heat generated by the graphics card.
While it has almost the same technical specifications as the stock Arc A380, Gunnir’s version of the Arc A380 comes with a dual-fan configuration due to it being slightly overclocked compared to Intel’s version thereby delivering better performance compared to the stock model. As for the memory, it is equipped with three 2GB GDDR6 modules but clocked lower at 15.5Gbps compared to the base model which offers 16Gbps. In spite of that, Gunnir’s version is still expected to exceed Intel’s since the clock speed is adjusted up to 2450MHz. As a result, the graphic card’s TBP has increased to 92W which makes it reasonable to have a dual-fan configuration.
Both versions come with three DisplayPort and one HDMI 2.0 connector. The GPU power is supplied through an 8-pin power connector.
Display Resolution And Features

According to Intel, the Arc A380 can output 60 frames per second at a 1080p setting. Hence, this gives gamers a smooth experience for titles that do not need much graphics processing power such as PUBG, League of Legends, and Battlegrounds. The card has DirectX 12 Ultimate features with ray tracing technology support. It also boasts its very own Intel XeSS, an artificial intelligence-based supersampling technique in graphics processing.
The new Arc A380 can also be used for content creation even though it is marketed by Intel for gaming enthusiasts. The graphics card has support for hardware acceleration technologies such as AV1 encoding, H.264, and HEVC encoding and decoding. As for the supported resolutions and refresh rates, it supports a whopping four outputs of 4K resolution at 120Hz refresh rate, two 8K 60Hz outputs, and a quad or full HD at 360Hz.
Final Thoughts
Looking at its current performance or specifications, the new GPU cannot compete with the best graphics cards in the market. Although it still has a long way to go in the GPU industry, Intel assures its target market consumers that it will provide enough power for users who enjoy gaming.
For the time being, the Arc A380 is only available for the Chinese market. It costs 1,030 Chinese Yuan which is approximately $150. Intel also plans to release the graphics card to other regions and will most likely be available first for manufacturers who intend to include the GPU in their desktop computer products.
