No Man’s Sky’s “Endurance” upgrade, which includes fleets of organic frigates, improved nebulae and deep space storms, deeper and more diversified freighter base building, and other features, was released by Hello Games.
Players of No Man’s Sky on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass have already arrested ships that have long served their traveler captains as they set out on missions to the furthest reaches of the galaxy in the first half of this year. Endurance, as its name suggests, is a tribute to long voyages on magnificent ships and offers the chance to highlight these magnificent vessels.

It has already been an incredibly busy year for No Man’s Sky, with the release of Sentinel, Leviathan, Outlaws, SteamDeck – and Switch, PSVR2, and MacOS coming very soon!
Today, we are releasing what is probably our biggest update of the year (our 20th major free update). Perhaps fittingly we’re calling it ENDURANCE, and the focus is on freighters, frigates and fleets.
You will be able to create elaborate freighter bases that are comparable to their planetary structures for the first time, with the added advantage that these ones can travel across space. These capital ships have been highly customized, and can anticipate seeing the same inventiveness in base construction in space as we do on Earth.
Create and construct your floating base with features like planters, refiners, extractors, shops, scanner rooms, and more. Then staff them with a workforce who will travel from room to room along glass corridors that offer breathtaking views of the starry night sky as they perform their duties.
There are bridges and corridors outside of your spacecraft as well. An incredible vantage point to view the planets, stars, and brand-new asteroid fields is a catwalk on the outside of a freighter. The camera is ready to go.
Freighter bases have been entirely reimagined, with a vast assortment of new pieces and themed chambers enabling players to swiftly put up an aesthetically varied and unique home in the stars. Alternatively, users can employ empty room versions and have complete control over décor by further customizing these pre-decorated rooms. Legacy pieces are completely interchangeable with the new set, and existing cargo bases have been kept.
Freighters now have specialized crew members milling about your base as part of their dynamic crew. As they patrol the base, engineers, biologists, and technicians can be seen thinking. Your hired frigate captains and squadron pilots also stop by your capital ship in between deep space missions.
Build extensive cargo farms with specific cultivation chambers using agricultural modules. Rows of crops can be planted, allowed to grow, and then harvested all at once. Traveling into a black hole is more theatrical than ever thanks to breathtaking new visual effects in Black Holes.
And unless you’ve viewed a warp field from a freighter’s bridge, you haven’t actually experienced one.
