On August 4, a new set of courses for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass will be released for the Nintendo Switch, featuring remastered versions of iconic Mario Kart tracks from Super Mario Kart to Mario Kart Tour for mobile devices.
However, there is a surprise in wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass DLC: a brand-new song by the name of Sky-High Sundae.

Remastered tracks from previous Mario Kart games were promised when Nintendo announced the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass earlier this year.
A new course has been added as the last one mentioned in the second wave. The artwork, titled Sky-High Sundae, depicts a track with ice cream and cookie environments that is focused around dessert. There will be four further waves of course releases until the end of 2022, each containing eight courses. Nintendo states in a new clip for the DLC that Sky-High Sundae is brand-new and will also be included to Mario Kart Tour at a later time.

The Wii U version of Mario Kart 8 that was released on the Wii U and included all of the DLC has been ported to the Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. With over 45 million copies sold since 2017, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has become the most popular Nintendo Switch game of all time despite receiving no updates or new content for years. Nintendo announced in 2022 that the game will receive a total of 48 new tracks, which would be distributed over the course of the year in waves.

The wild Waluigi Pinball from Mario Kart DS is making an appearance in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is even greater news for veteran Mario Kart fans. The complete list of the eight courses included in wave 2 of the Booster Course Pass, along with corresponding cups, is shown below.

Eight remastered courses, including Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, 3DS Toad Circuit, DS Shroom Ridge, and GBA Sky Garden, as well as Ninja Hideaway, Paris Promenade, and Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour, were added to the game as part of Wave 1 of the Booster Course Pass DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in March. Through 2023, four additional waves of courses will be released, bringing the total number of new and updated tracks to 48.
The new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe courses can be purchased separately for $25 with the Booster Course Pass or included as part of a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass membership.
