The manufacturer of Nokia smartphones, HMD Global, has announced new items as part of IFA 2022: three affordable phones, and a tablet.

Starting with the phones—more specifically, the Nokia X30 5G, which you can see below—talk let’s about them. With a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, 90Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness of 450 nits, Snapdragon 695 processor, 5G compatibility, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of storage, this device appears to be a fairly typical low-cost phone in many aspects.
It also boasts a 50MP main camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera, a 4,200mAh battery with 33W charging, and runs Android 12 with the promise of three years of upgrades. It is available in blue and white, and intriguingly, it has an IP67 classification, making it more water-resistant than the majority of budget phones.
The Nokia X30 5G is even more intriguing because, according to HMD Global, it’s the most environmentally friendly phone the brand has ever produced, with a 100% recycled frame and camera bump in addition to a 65% recycled plastic back. Therefore, you could certainly do worse than this if you desire a new phone while reducing your environmental effect.

The Nokia G60 5G, which is shown in the article’s header, comes next. However, it offers a 6.58-inch FHD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of 400 nits, which the X30 5G lacks. Along with a Snapdragon 695 CPU, 64GB or 128GB of storage, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and other features.
The phone supports 5G, has a 4,500mAh battery with 20W charging, a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
This also has Android 12 and three years of updates, so even though recycled materials aren’t mentioned, the device should at least continue to function for a long, which also benefits the environment because you won’t need to upgrade as frequently.

The Nokia C31 is the third new phone. It includes a 6.7-inch HD+ screen, a Unisoc 9863A1 chipset, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and a trio of cameras with a 13MP main camera and two 2MP sensors. However, the specifications are nothing to get excited about.
Although 10W charging is slow, the device boasts a sizable 5,050mAh battery, a fingerprint reader on the back, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 12 is installed.

Meanwhile, a recently unveiled inexpensive tablet with some green credentials is the Nokia T21. The slate only has 60% recycled plastic for the antenna cover and SIM tray, so they’re not quite as spectacular as those of the Nokia X30 5G.
10.4-inch 2K screen, Unisoc T612 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and microSD card slot are the features of this device. Additionally, it runs Android 12 and includes an 8MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, an 8,200mAh battery, and 18W charging.
The prices of the phones are as follows:
- Nokia X30 5G ($465)
- Nokia G60 5G ($290)
- Nokia C31 ($130)
- Nokia T21 ($240)
